Dayton Community Bail Fund
The Dayton Community Bail Fund, modeled after community bail funds in Chicago and Columbus, is launching to be in support of people who were arrested while protesting in the recent uprisings against police brutality and in recognition of the worth of Black lives here in the Dayton area. If you or a loved one are experiencing financial strain due to recent participation in political activism, please contact us. Your donations to this fund will directly support people who were arrested while protesting. We are an all volunteer-run project that has come out of a community need for support. Members of the Dayton Community Bail Fund come from several local community organizations such as Black Lives Matter Dayton, ABLE, The National Lawyers Guild of Ohio, Gem City Market, Dayton Young Black Professionals, Human Relations Council, SURJ Greater Dayton/Dayton Anti-Racist Network, Black and Pink SWOhio and more.
The Dayton Community Bail Fund will support people arrested during political activism to help absorb some of the financial risk of speaking out and taking action to make change, so that those most impacted by injustice and systemic racism can stay focused on their goals of change making.
The Dayton Community Bail Fund is an Ohio nonprofit corporation operating as a project fiscally sponsored by the YWCA Dayton. All funds raised will be distributed to the Dayton Community Bail Fund.
